The Brits

Ok so you know how people say that the Holocaust never happened? And you know how you (or at least I) want to severly punch them when they say that? Well the British school systems have decided that since the Muslim community teach their children that the Holocaust never happened, then they will remove the Holocaust from the cirriculum and will not teach it anymore. Is that right? What about the Jewish kids? Since the minority says that it didn't happen, they get to say that the Jews are liars? Can I say that we never bombed Japan even though there are still radioactive effects seen today and pictures and videos? Can I say that? Do I have that right? What is happening to our world?

I hate how schools try to avoid controversy at the risk of hurting education. The Holocaust has been a controversial issue for a long time, and it is definitely something that all people should be informed about, especially if it is a part of their history. Both sides of the story should be heard, not just the one that has the support of a minority.

Chloe, do you still have the link. It would be helpful if you post the link as well.

Well, that's people today for you.
No one wants to take responsibility for anything, and if we have problems, we just ignore them. You don't like something? No one says you have to acknowledge it.

The article can be found at http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=445979&in_page_id=1770

or at the BBC with http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/education/6517359.stm

It also talks about not teaching the slave trade so as to avoid making black or white kids feel bad and not teaching the Crusades becuase we fought the Muslims.

What the heck is going on?! Mr. R, you teach us everything becuase it is history and you can't soften up what actually happened. Why is this happening?
